Getting in the Christmas Spirit

Saturday

My parents really wanted to take a cruise on the Rhine River. They were told it was such a neat way to spend an afternoon, the sights and castles along the river are just beautiful. So we drove to Rudesheim and bought a ticket for the cruise. The boat had two levels, one inside and one outside on the top where the best view was.

We actually met a Poke fan on the cruise, SMALL world huh! He overheard us talking about OU football and even though he was an OSU fan, we became instant friends. The cruise was a little over four hours. While we cruised, we drank gluwein and enjoyed the scenery. Here are pictures from our trip.

Sunday

Today we all went to the Christmas tree lot and picked out a wonderful tree to make our home chipper for the holidays.

I love this time of year and I absolutely love to decorate my house with Christmas spirit. Also I LOVE real trees, they make the house smell so amazing, like winter. We picked out a tree that we think is about 9 feet tall, maybe a little taller. It is so very beautiful in our house and I couldn't be happier! We all decorated the Christmas tree while listening to Christmas music. It was so neat to have my parents here decorating and spending quality time with Jon and me!

My mother made homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner. My step dad Steve and I are both sick with colds and that couldn't have been a more yummy meal to make us feel better. My mom has been saying how she wanted to watch a Christmas movie, so while we ate dinner we watched Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. It was a wonderful way to end the weekend.

I've been out of touch for a few day and am trying to catch up.

Another day with beautiful pictures. The beauty is amazing.

The tree is beautiful! Sounds like y'all had a wonderful time decorating it with the Christmas music playing & Christmas movies are always lots of fun.

Tell your mom the fried bread looks so yummy! I'd love the recipe for it. It probably wouldn't turn out likes hers. Che's grandma makes Indian fry break and it is SO good. I imagine this to taste kinda like that.

How long will you mom and Steve be in Germany?
Y'all keep having a great time.

Love,
Valerie
