Picture Post

With the sun shining yesterday we just didn't want to miss the opportunity of enjoying the day outside, so after Jon arrived home from work, we hustled our hineys to the Vienna Zoo in hopes to walk around for at least an hour before it closed.
Here are some of the pictures I captured: Click to enlarge

Our walk to the entrance of the zoo

The entrance
Sleepy guy
Ant Eaters
I could cuddle this thing all day, if he didn't want to eat me
These guys were the cutest, they were roaming free above our heads.
Treat time, they were given grapes to eat.
We walked up just in time to see the sea lion show
I'm not even kidding you, this guy was seriously posing for pictures.
Or that's what it seemed
Crazy haired penguin waving helloThe zoo has a beautiful trail at one end
An Owl
We also saw wolves and other owls on this trail

Look at this guy, isn't he handsome
Reptile house and Aquarium
Sea anemone and a little clown fish at the top

And we saw all of this in under an hour and 1/2!
It really is an amazing zoo, I hope to come back in the summer months so we can see all of the animals. It was too cold for a lot of them and they were inside.

This is a website Jon found about history of the Vienna Zoo..... click on this link to learn more.

Also thanks to everyone who commented about my scarf! A fellow blogger suggested I use one for a giveaway. I think that is a great idea! I have been planning on doing a giveaway for my 100th post! I have a really great find from Vienna that I am going to use and I am going to add a second item, the scarf, for another giveaway. So be looking for my 100th post, there will be two items up for grabs!

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Vienna Zoo has a special place in my heart. My favorite author, John Irving, wrote a book about it. And another one that partly takes place in Vienna.

Great pictures, especially the first one. I really like the landscaping. I love the zoo! I used to work as an intern at the Tulsa, OK Zoo and it was by far one of my favorite jobs.

Oh, how I love big cats..and I DO wish they would let us cuddle with them and that they didn't want to eat us. Have you ever seen that video of the tiger seeing his long lost people family? He runs up to them and hugs and hugs them? Look it up on Youtube. PRECIOUS!
