Last Night in Qatar

What did we do on our last night in Qatar you ask??? (or you might not have asked but I'm going to tell you....)

We went to the Qatar Racing Club track and watched the drag races!

It took my back to my younger years, when my mom would make my brother and me go to the races every Friday to watch our cousin race in downtown OKC. He was actually a great race car driver! But being dragged out to the races wasn't a highlight of my life! (Sorry Larry, if you ever read this!)

Jon also grew up around the race track, since his dad was a drag racer. Now he builds engines for race cars and hot rods. But every now and then, he sneaks off to Bonneville to do some racing. I went to the track with Jon and his dad when we were back in the states and got to see Jon's dad race. It was really neat to see him in action!

To say I had a good time last night would be an understatement, it was a blast! (does that make me a redneck..... maybe so.)

Here are some pictures from last night and some
videos if you would like to partake in our evening of drag racing!

We are flying back to Germany today......
Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

I can acutally say that I've never been to a race before...They built a nascar speedway 15 minutes from my house about five years ago and have had several nascar races since then but I've never gone...I just never got into it life most southerners do...I guess that means I'm not full blown southern:p

Very cool!
I have a whole new outlook on the middle east.
I just pictured things to be a lot different than you've described.
Glad y'all had such a fun evening.

I went to the drag races in ABilene, TX one time in college, and it was a lot of fun, but I was not prepared for the smell or the noise!
