Messenger Bag Giveaway:

I was given the Honest Scrap award

from J.J. at I'd Rather Be Laughing.
and d.a.r. at Just Another Day in Paradise.
Thanks so much guys.

The rules are:
1. List 10 honest things about yourself that your
blogging friends do not know about you.

2. Give the award away to 7 bloggers.

3. Let them know they've received the award.

So here goes nothin':

1. I have never in my life driven a stick shift/6 speed. I am terrified to drive one, knowing I'd stall in the middle of a busy street and not know what to do.

2. I get super excited when all of the pickles in the pickle jar are gone so that I can drink the remaining juice! Yummm. My SIL and BIL own a sno cone business in Norman. They used to have a pickle juice sno cone if I can remember. My favorite. If you're ever in Norman you seriously have to grab one or ten of their sno cones. They're the BEST you'll ever eat. And not just the pickle, they have a GAGILLION flavors. You won't regret stopping by!

3. My grandfather has been missing for 30 years, (since '79.) He was a pilot and his last radio contact was over Mexico. We secretly think he worked for the mob and is now in witness protection!! He, his wife, and their best bud were all on the plane together. Neither they, nor their plane we ever found. Interesting.......

4. I always leave a little liquid in every drink and usually leave cups scattered throughout the house. (Think of the little girl in Signs) It drives my husband insane.

5. I was a gymnast for 12 years, competed and worked hard to be in an upper level. But doctors recommended I quit because of an arm injury. Boooo!

6. I'm a candy-holic. You'll normally find me with gummy bears in hand. I come by it honestly, my mother is a huge candy-holic. She hides her candy so no one else can have any!!

7. I have an OCD with time. I never take off my watch and I never wear fancy watches for that reason. I need a watch that can live through anything. Timex has been my watch savior.

8. I have trouble differentiating color. I failed the color vision test at the eye doctor. It was very embarrasing when Jon and I started dating and we would go shopping together. I always had to ask him what color something was.

9. I REALLY don't like my food to touch. When I was a kid my mom bought me my own special plates, like cafeteria style with little invidual slots, because I was a freak about my food touching. Still am.

10. I CANNOT stand being late. I have always been extremely punctual. Maybe it stems from my OCD with time, but it stresses me out to even think about being late. I'm weird.

I'm passing this award along to some of my newer followers to learn a little about ya!!

In no particular order:

Mrs. G.I. Joe
Little Woman, Little Home
Chapters Of Our Lives
If You Think Round Is Funny
The Mathis'
The Adventures of Katie and Josh
Jane

Hope you all have a great Tuesday!

I only take my watch off to go to sleep. I always have that thing on and I'm the same way. I never buy a fancy one for that reason.

Oh shoot I didn't get to you fast enough :)

Wow that is CRAZY about your grandfather!! Cool story, though. And I used to be the same way about candy. I would hide it under my bed so my roommates in college wouldn't eat it!

Ah, pickle sno cones (raspas). They are actually a Mexican thing, which explains why we have them in TX and OK. But, ew! I can't stand them! Ick ick ick!

I'm the same way about stick shifts! The anticipation of knowing that I have to get the car to go at a light with people waiting behind me is a recipe for disaster!

Also -- my husband has made the same comment to me about my random half-full drinks!

That is really sad about your grandfather. I hope he is OK/was OK. I dont like uncertainties like that. My OCD is I need to know what is going on at all times.

But hey! Thanks for sharing some of those things with us :) I love that everyone is unique and has special things about them. Life is goooooood :)

Several years ago Danny tried to teach me to drive a stick shift. Then about 10 years ago he bought a brand new pick up and it was a stick shift.
He had to take my car one time and I was left with it. :(
My friend was about 8 months pregnant and she was determined to teach me. I had practiced on quiet streets and had done remarkably well. Well....we went to a very busy intersection and the light turned green and when I'd start to go, it would die. I was freaking out. She was laughing so hard she wet her pants.
She had to end up switching sides with me and driving us home. It was barely even a hill, but I was so scared I'd hit the car behind me.
I honestly think that was the last time.

I love dill pickles....they're the best, but I can't imagine it tasting good on a snow cone. hummmm.....

What a FASCINATING list! Mysteries are crazy... how interesting there is a BIG one in your family -- wow -

I'm OCD about time, too -- I have my cell phone with me all the time... but on a vaca, NO time allowed!

I'm a Candy-holic too!!

How cool you were a gymnast!!!

Thanks for blogging about my Giveaway!!!

I just realized we are so much a like that it actually scared me a little. This may be a long comment..
#1. Me too.
#2. LOVE pickle juice. I may not drink the whole jar, but I always have a couple sips.
#4. Same thing. I've actually done a whole post dedicated to this somewhere down the line. It used to drive hubs up the wall and it DOES still drive people at work crazy.
#6. I used to be known for the insane amount of candy I would eat. More so the sugary stuff instead of chocolate.
#7 & 10. I'm a freak about time. One of my biggest pet peaves is when people are late. I have to be early. If i'm even going to be exactly ON TIME I start having miniture panic attacks.
#9. My food can never touch either. I secretly still want to eat off of the separated plates but I'm afraid it's not acceptable at my age. I do however love the paper ones that sometimes come out at picnics and I will eat some foods on separate plates sometimes if I'm at home.

That's it. Scary, no?

I LOVE me some pickle juice too. I often drink too much and it gives me a belly ache. Well worth it though :)

I haven't been keeping up with blogger too much lately. Thank you for all your sweet comments. I always look forward to seeing what you've got going on.

Hey, I'm from Oklahoma too!

I LOVE Snocones!!-- not so much the pickle kind though.. *gag* (no offence!)

I can't have my food touch either. Especially if its corn and mashed potatoes. Or something runny. Yuck.

And I thought I was the only one who drank pickle juice when the pickles are all gone. I have to do it in secret, though, because it grosses out my family. I have to admit, just sitting here thinking about it is making my mouth water!

J.J. said...

that IS interesting about your grandfather...

I get the watch thing too :) hmmm....picle snocone...I would totally try that. I like salty stuff.

Cool list....sorry I was a moron and just got to it. we were driving 12 hours home when you posted. Sorry :)
