Today I walked downtown to meet Jon for lunch at the market so that I could grab a couple of things. I wanted some fresh lettuce, cucumber, and some fresh strawberries. (They are in season right now in Germany.) I love having a farmers market so close by!! There was nothing like this near my house back in Oklahoma, so it is a real treat to be able to buy super fresh produce and I only have to walk a short way to the downtown area.
Thought I'd share a couple of pictures from the market.
If you've been following our blog for a long time, I'm sure you've seen this church a dozen times, but here's more pictures, just for the heck of it!
After market I met up with my friend Sarah and we made a little trip to Ikea for a couple of things. I bought a couple of picture frames to add to our dining room and some glass spice jars for my spice cabinet. Yesterday I also bought glass bottles for olive oils and vinegars and I'm going to use those in my spice cabinet as well. I am excited to get it all organized so my spice cabinet will look all pretty. (Wow, you know you're getting old when a spice cabinet gets you excited.) I'll have to take a picture of the finished product because I know you all will be excited too ;)
Sarah and Deaner bought a new TV for their soon to be house, so we headed over to the base to pick it up from the electronics store. Who said women can't do a man's job? We heaved that thing into the back of my vehicle (with help from Deaner and a few passerby's) but when we got back to the hotel where they are staying we lugged that sucker all the way into the building. That TV was not light, let me tell ya! We definitely looked like two super human wives. (At least I thought so!) I was very proud of us!
Now I'm off to do dishes and laundry.
If only I could be super human and wiz through that! Booooo!
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

that market looks fabulous!
All those brillient colors! I love farmers markets but haven't been to one in years! Good luck with all that cleaning:p And go Girl power!
what a fun market! I always love the pictures you take - very pretty. Good for you strong, strapping women! Who needs men?! ;)
::raising my hand in the background while saying "me!me!"::
Katie, I'm holding up my hand saying me, me with you, haha ;) That was hard work!
That's the one thing I don't like about Oklahoma...it's hard to find fresh markets. I had fresh blackberries here the other day and they were to die for!
Oh...and I'm impressed by you and Sarah!
I would KILL to have a market like that near us! I remember going to a market very similar to that when I lived in Germany as a kid with my mom. Hated it then...would love it now!
...another you-know-you're-getting-old-when moment! I'm jealous of your ability to go to a farmer's market! ha!
I want to go to that market!!! How fun!
While I am in no way well-versed as far as farmers markets go, the Wiesbaden farmers market looks much larger than any I have seen in Indiana. I am going to have to do some investigating, because now I am curious to see if there are any decent farmers markets in my area. :-)
Have you seen The Proposal? If not, you absolutely have to! I think you would love it! :)
PS. Farmer Market's rock! loved the pics
That's funny that you say that. I live in OKC and while I don't know of any farmer's markets near my house, there are weekly ones in both Edmond and Norman. I think the Norman one is at the county fairgrounds. I used to regularly curse the Edmond one because every Wednesday they took my work's parking lot for their stupid market, and the nearest lot was two blocks away. Makes me growl just to think about it :)
we have a small farmers market, but it can't even compete with yours!
Who doesn't love a cool spice cabinet/rack? The colors are pretty groovy. That is an awesome church, wouldn't want to be skydiving anywhere in the area though. :)
Hope the dishes etc. got done quickly!
I'm so jealous of your market! Fabulous!
And way to go on carrying that TV!! Woohoo!!
