I Got Owned!!

Today at the gym I hopped on a treadmill next to an older man, he was probably in his late 60's early 70's. I hopped on next to this man thinking, "well it won't be much of a competition if I'm running next to this older man, I will totally beat him with my jogging speed, distance and time." (Totally terrible of me I know, I'm HORRIBLE for thinking this) But, I always like some good competition and I've always been super competitive in every sport.

Anyway.... back to this older man, boy, was I wrong about him. This goes back to the saying "Never judge a book by its cover." It was terrible of me to do so.... I feel bad now, because I got completely OWNED. This man blew me away! I couldn't even keep up with him and I feel like a complete dork. How sad! It didn't even seem like he broke a sweat. When I got off, my entire face was beat red, and my shirt was soaked. Ew...

But after thinking about it for a while, I was really proud of this old man. I mean he's kicking a 25 year old girl's A**!!! He's taking care of himself and exercising. I wanted to give him a pat on the back or a high five or something. I hope to see this man again, because I think he will be the perfect competition to get me back in shape. Ha ha.....

Have a great day ;)

Ha ha! You sound like me. I take pleasure in the small victories of beating old people on things like the elliptical or treadmill. Although this time you got owned, the image is just funny.

How did I forget that you were a fellow Okie? I just noticed the Sooner Schooner on your sidebar!

You thought you could beat me, didn't you, you little whipper-snapper. When do you want to race again? I can't tomorrow, because I have to re-vulcanize my tires, and then I'm watching Matlock. Catch me later!

I got passed by a fat guy going up a hill the other day. That made me feel really good when I could barely drag my tiny butt up there, but this 300 pounder flew by me.

This made me laugh SOOO hard! Specially considering what I just wrote on my "Not Me Monday" post about running -- It's like "Note to self: Beat 70 y/o in a race to nowhere..." - LOL

HAPPY MONDAY!

p.s. -- Your hair is ADORABLE! I love the cut

See this is why I work out at home! The other day when I was running on my treadmill, I tripped over my own feet and wiped out...now imagine doing something like that at a gym. Yeah right!

You give me motivation! You being my daughter, I can vouch for the competitive spirit! I can see you on that treadmill now. OK, Monday i am back on the Flat Belly Diet but I just made Chewy Toffee Oatmeal Cookies and ate 6. Your sugar addict, Mom

How funny! That's why I don't go to a gym. I did once and was so embarrassed. If I saw an older person next to me I would know they could out do me.
I'm slowly working on it in the privacy of my home. Hang in there Stephanie!
I'm off work today because of the weather. I'm gonna be so lazy....I can already tell. ;)

That is hilarious. Sadly, most of the time I am in the gym by myself (it's a really nice gym that multiple apartments share-but there's a couple different gyms) so when someone else is there I totally push myself to be better.. You should have high fived him- although that could have made him fall & break a hip if he was startled..
