Boy, Oh Boy

First off.... I made a new header. First attempt at this and not too bad if I do say so myself! I just wish the pictures weren't so blurry. Like I've said in the past, I am not computer savvy... I'm slowly learning how to figure out computer software. Isn't it weird that I worked in an office for years, I can type 70 wpm but don't know how to do much else.......Patience is a virtue that I am always learning and with patience I can figure this computer stuff out ;)

Secondly, you never realize how much you miss something until you don't have it anymore. My point being.... in Germany they don't have garbage disposals. Or maybe they do and our building just doesn't have them. I just got done doing a load of dishes and was gagging at the leftover food in the sink that I had to remove with my hands and fingers. I felt like I was working in a restaurant again. It never bothered me before back home. Dishes were just something I didn't mind doing, because we had an awesome garbage disposal. Now I CAN'T STAND doing them. I think that is why I put them off for a couple of days and then when I don't have any counter space I am forced to do them. I don't have a weak stomach but doing these dishes makes me feel dirty. I wash my entire arms up to my elbow and then rub that Purel antibacterial hand gel all over my arms and hands.

I don't know how my grandmother did dishes for all of those years without a garbage disposal. I'd watch her cook three solid meals a day and then do dishes! That's a real woman ;)

Speaking of Grandmas, I feel like one today. I've done something to my lower back on the left side. I keep getting sharp pains that make me freeze in agony and make me want to cry. I don't know what I've done to myself. Where's a massage therapist when you need one!

Enough complaining for one day, jeez!
On a bright note, we're scheduled to leave for Austria on Sunday.

This is a beautiful picture I found on the internet! Oh my goodness I can't wait. For those of you who know Jon and I, we LOVE being outdoors, hiking, biking, well really anything that has to do with being outside. I can't wait to do a little hiking while we are there.

I have been really looking forward to this trip. It is such a blessing to be able to travel to all of these amazing places and see new exciting things. God has blessed Jon and I in so many ways and we are so thankful to him.

I hope the weather is nice so we can enjoy our time there. I can't wait to take a trillion pictures!

Well, off to do laundry and get this house in order.
Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Oooh where are you going to in Austria? I can't wait to hear about your trip!

Oh...and one of these days all of us in Germany in Italy should get together, I think it'd be a blast!

Oh my, Salzburg is one of the top places on my list to see while we are here. I'm a dork and want to take the Sound of Music tour, among other things.

I'm slowly getting settled in to living here. I'm just ready to get out and explore, but I'm trying to hold off on that until we get settled in and get our care and the rest of our stuff here. Once I get that taken care of I'll feel better about going exploring.

Girl! I am WITH you on the garbage disposal thing! AACK! It drives me nuts. That and no screens on the windows are two things that I miss very much...well that and pretty much everything else about the states...haha!

And good job on the header!

I love your new header. I noticed it right off. I don't even think the pictures look blurry.

I so badly need to get my blog updated and cute!
I'm afraid of change and afraid I'll lose something that's on there. I'm home again today because of the weather. It'd be a good day to mess around with it. We'll see. ;)

I know what you mean about that yucky food that's left in the sink. Ohhhh. I'm so thankful for garbage disposals.

Speaking of grandmas...mine still lives in the same house she's lived in for years....where all the kids grew up. There's no dishwasher or g. disposal. She also dirties up more dishes & pots and pans when she cooks than anyone you've ever seen. She's 93 so she doesn't cook much anymore, but she used to cook and we'd clean up.
Man, it was a chore! ;)

I can't wait to see all the pictures from Austria. Wow.....it's gonna be great.

Do you have a heating pad for your back? They're the best. I'm on one right now. LOL! Nothing hurts, I'm just cold and lazy.

Have a good day Steph!
Love,
Val

Hi Steph! Europe is so wonderful isn't it? There are things that are a little backwards, but when you consider all that Germany has to offer, the trade off is much better! So glad that you are enjoying your time here! Austria is amazing-you will love it! Are you in the KMC area?

Firstly - I love your new header - it so aptly captures the spirit of your current "adventures!"

Secondly - I totally look forward to seeing your Austria pics. Salzburg was one of my favorite places during my college travels (tho, it was dead winter, and everything was snow covered - not quite the same as those gorgeous "Sound of Music" landscapes!)

Nice job on the header!! You crack me up. When I first got married we didn't have a disposal. Nasty!!! I could not live without one now. My parents used to dump food in the toilet. Gross!! We don't know how good we have it these days. Sorry you are without :( Speaking of grandmas...mine used to totally gross me out getting food out of the sink like you had to do. That makes me laugh. She would put her hand in anything. How can they do that. I'm about to throw up thinking about it! haha
Hope that your back gets to feeling better!

Steph I love the new header....it looks great! And what did you do to your back??? And is it still hurting? You may be able to stretch it and that might help. Is it hurting all the time?? And what kind of pain??
