Giveaways and an Award

First: Click on these pictures to
Check out these great giveaways!

The Reality of Happily Ever After is
doing an awesome Summer Giveaway:
And check out Blog Goggles for this
killer
Messenger Bag Giveaway:
Next:
I was given the Honest Scrap award

from J.J. at I'd Rather Be Laughing.
and d.a.r. at Just Another Day in Paradise.
Thanks so much guys.

The rules are:
1. List 10 honest things about yourself that your
blogging friends do not know about you.

2. Give the award away to 7 bloggers.

3. Let them know they've received the award.

So here goes nothin':

1. I have never in my life driven a stick shift/6 speed. I am terrified to drive one, knowing I'd stall in the middle of a busy street and not know what to do.

2. I get super excited when all of the pickles in the pickle jar are gone so that I can drink the remaining juice! Yummm. My SIL and BIL own a sno cone business in Norman. They used to have a pickle juice sno cone if I can remember. My favorite. If you're ever in Norman you seriously have to grab one or ten of their sno cones. They're the BEST you'll ever eat. And not just the pickle, they have a GAGILLION flavors. You won't regret stopping by!

3. My grandfather has been missing for 30 years, (since '79.) He was a pilot and his last radio contact was over Mexico. We secretly think he worked for the mob and is now in witness protection!! He, his wife, and their best bud were all on the plane together. Neither they, nor their plane we ever found. Interesting.......

4. I always leave a little liquid in every drink and usually leave cups scattered throughout the house. (Think of the little girl in Signs) It drives my husband insane.

5. I was a gymnast for 12 years, competed and worked hard to be in an upper level. But doctors recommended I quit because of an arm injury. Boooo!

6. I'm a candy-holic. You'll normally find me with gummy bears in hand. I come by it honestly, my mother is a huge candy-holic. She hides her candy so no one else can have any!!

7. I have an OCD with time. I never take off my watch and I never wear fancy watches for that reason. I need a watch that can live through anything. Timex has been my watch savior.

8. I have trouble differentiating color. I failed the color vision test at the eye doctor. It was very embarrasing when Jon and I started dating and we would go shopping together. I always had to ask him what color something was.

9. I REALLY don't like my food to touch. When I was a kid my mom bought me my own special plates, like cafeteria style with little invidual slots, because I was a freak about my food touching. Still am.

10. I CANNOT stand being late. I have always been extremely punctual. Maybe it stems from my OCD with time, but it stresses me out to even think about being late. I'm weird.

I'm passing this award along to some of my newer followers to learn a little about ya!!

In no particular order:

Mrs. G.I. Joe
Little Woman, Little Home
Chapters Of Our Lives
If You Think Round Is Funny
The Mathis'
The Adventures of Katie and Josh
Jane

Hope you all have a great Tuesday!

A Couple of Things....

First.....

My real life friend Sarah is doing a giveaway on her blog! Check it out, she has some super cute stuff. The awesome thing about her giveaway is you get to choose the perfect gift for you from a list of items and have it monogrammed! How cool is that?? So head over to her blog and enter her giveaway!!

Second.....

I was tagged from another wonderful friend Jenny.Lee. Thank you Jenny, this made my day!

Here are the rules: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbon of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

I am giving this award to:

Learning to be a Wife
Mrs. G.I. Joe
Living Our Own Fairytail
Windowboxes and Weissbier
Mr. and Mrs. in Training
Lesley
Just Another Day in Paradise
French Kiss

And I award everyone else, because really I have made so many wonderful friends through the blogging world! What a great blogging world it is ;)

Third........

I was looking back at our pictures from Ireland and came to the conclusion that I must have a thing for doors. What do you think?

No wonder Jon kept asking me why I was taking another picture of a door. I have 20 pictures of just doors!! Oh well I just love them and the fact that they are painted so bright and colorful in Dublin. I had to take pictures of them!

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday! Thank goodness the weekend is finally here!

8 Things

I was tagged by Kelly at The Lawrences and Christy at Confessions from an Impulsive Addict. Thanks guys!

Here's the deal, Mention the persons that tagged you. Complete the lists of 8's. Tag 8 of your wonderful blogging friends. Go tell them you have tagged them.

Here are my list of 8's......

8 Things I Look Forward To:

1. My birthday surprise from Jon. I have yet to find out anything other than we are going somewhere and I have to pack underwear, water, and almonds. (to understand my packing reference see here.) My birthday is next Saturday the 25th. I will be 26 years old!!!!

2. Eating at Vapiano Friday night! Love me some pasta and vino ;)

3. Not having to do the dishes Friday night because we are eating out!

4. Mexican fiesta tonight with homemade salsa and chicken tacos! YUM.

5. Buying some new workout pants!

6. Getting my hair colored by my fabulous hairstylist/hubby Jon! Check out the last color job he did :) (mind the post, it's super long.)

7. I am more than looking forward to our one year anniversary in June! 06/07/08! We are planning a trip to Italy!!

8. and my brother is coming again in May and I can't wait to see him.

8 Things I Did Yesterday:

1. I walked 5 miles through the park.

2. I cut my friend Sarah's hair.

3. Went grocery shopping and loaded up on some, somewhat healthy food.

4. Did the dishes........ my least favorite thing in the world.

5. Went to the grocery store a second time because I forgot to get hamburger buns!

6. Made buffalo/bison burgers for dinner!

7. Ate almost an entire bag of French Onion Sunchips by myself. (and I wonder why I can't lose weight.)

8. Drank some very good red wine with dinner.

8 Things I Wish I Could Do:

1. I wish I could lose 1 pound for every mile I walk/jog.

2. I wish I was like Samantha on Bewitched, could wiggle my nose and the house work would be done leaving the entire house immaculate. How can two people dirty a house so quickly is my question!?

3. I wish I could eat Mexican food every day and not gain weight, but actually lose it.

4. I wish I had a beach front home or home on a lake. Water is so relaxing.

5. I wish we had our own vineyard/vineyards that were already producing a good crop.

6. I wish I could play the piano! My mom can play. I always wanted to play Claire de Lune on the piano, although I don't think I could ever play like Claude Debussy.

7. I wish Germany had a Target. I miss that store on a daily basis.

8. I wish Jon and I could volunteer in Borneo, because that would be his dream come true. I would love to research and help save the Gibbons and other animals living there.

8 Shows I Watch:

Well being that we are in Germany and don't have a satellite at the moment we really don't watch Television shows.

We do however have several on DVD that we watch regularly like:

1. TRUE BLOOD!!! my favorite show
2. Entourage
3. Arrested Development
4. Family Guy (that we watch ALL OF THE TIME)
5. Seinfeld
6. Deadwood (That we borrowed from some friends)

I just got Dexter and Sopranos and definitely look forward to watching those.

So I guess that is 8!

We are mainly movie freaks. We watch movies almost every night. We just watched Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler last night and I thought it was really cute. Of course I love Adam Sandler and any movie he is in.

Happy Thursday Everyone!!

Spring in Germany

Today is the 4th day of spring in Germany and look at the lovely weather we are having!

Aw well, it's really not that bad. I actually enjoy snow, I think it's really pretty. But I do not enjoy the cold temperatures, nor do I enjoy driving when it's snowy. I am sure it won't stick for long, since we have had several days in the 40's/50's.

It's so strange how we had some sun and I captured a picture of a rainbow that I posted about yesterday, and now it is snowing. I feel like I am back in Oklahoma where the weather changes at the drop of a hat. Kind of feels like home ;)

I was tagged by Anniebannanie at This Momma's Musings! This was so funny and I enjoyed doing it! Thanks Anniebannabie! I had to go into Google and type "my name" and then the word "needs" into Google search engine. Then list the first ten responses that make sense.

So here's what "Steph needs...."

1. Steph needs some help.
(So true if someone wants to come help me do my dishes and laundry, well actually all my housework, that would be a BIG help.)

2. Steph needs someone to control her.
(Because you know how wild and crazy I get..... not)

3. Steph needs to go to the bathroom real bahhd.
(that's just gross, why would someone put that on Google.)

4. Steph needs a prince.
(Already found mine!!)

5. Steph needs another new start.
(No, thank you, I just had a brand new start about 7 months ago. I think one brand new start is all I can take for at least another three years.)

6. Steph needs a makeover to get Eric back.
(Who's Eric?)

7. Steph needs hug
(I sure do)

8. Steph needs a new pair of pajamas.
(Who doesn't need new pajamas? My pajamas usually consist of Jon's boxer shorts and a tank top.)

9. Steph needs to buy us all tivo's.
(If I could I would.)

10. Steph needs rhinoplasty surgery.
(Ugh, now that hurts. I didn't think my nose was that bad.)

Tag, I'm it!

Step 1: respond and rework—answer the questions on your own blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention, add one more question of your own.

Step 2: tag—eight other un-tagged people.

1. What were you doing before you started this post? Waking up... I checked my email and drank my morning coffee with Jon boy.

2. What is the last thing you read/are currently reading? At the moment I am reading Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris! Sooooo good. It's another vampire series, after reading Twilight, I was left wanting more ;)

3. Do you nap a lot? No not really ever. Unless I'm just exhausted.

4. Who was the last person you hugged? Jon boy! Sweetest hugs ever

5. What is your favorite TV series? I cannot get enough of True Blood. We are actually re-watching it at the moment, I love this show!

6. What was the last thing you said out loud? "Bye baby, love you, email me when you're on your way home."

7. What websites do you always visit when you go online? Yahoo to check the news, hotmail to check my email, myspace and blogger of course!

8. What was the last item you bought? A bottle of Viennese wine last night.

9. What is your most challenging goal? I'm going with exercising for sure.... I cannot get motivated, even though not fitting in my jeans at the moment should be motivating enough.

10. If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished- anywhere in the world, where would it be? Somewhere in Washington State or Colorado

11. Favorite Vacation spot? Costa Rica by far. Man do I miss the beach

12. Say something to the person who tagged you: Shannon - I absolutely love reading your blog everyday and love seeing all of the lovely photographs you take! Your family is adorable and so are you ;)

13. Name one thing you just can't resist no matter how bad it is for you: Chips, any kind really. I could eat an entire bag of whatever chip you put in front of my face. It's so sad.

14. What is your favorite item of clothing? 1921's are my favorite jeans I have 4 pair!

15. What would your American Gladiator name be and why? Man this is a hard one.... I'm not very creative today ;)

16. Name one thing you can not live with out: prob coffee I have to have it every morning to function. I proved this theory a couple of days ago..... I was like a zombie all day without my morning coffee.

17. Has a celebrity's haircut ever influenced you on your own hairstyle? Yes, I did the posh spice A-symmetric hairstyle for a while! It was fun.... but got old fast....

18. What is your drink of choice. Besides coffee, it would have to be wine. Pinot Noir!

19. What would you eat for one meal, if you could eat anything and not gain the calories or fat
grams, etc?

I would eat as much Mexican food, preferably Ted's, that I could fit in my stomach. Chips, salsa, guacamole, chicken enchilada's, more chips and salsa. and tortillas! Oh my gosh yum....

20. What are you wearing right now? red pj pants with white polka dots, Jon's camo OU socks (yikes), and a long sleeve shirt t-shirt.

21. What's your favorite room in your house? Our living room, because it is so cozy! That is where we spend most of our time.

22. If you were to have a baby boy and girl tomorrow, what would you name them?
The name Sloan for a girl is too cute, or Boston. For a boy Bordy. We had a family friend whose son was named Bordy and I always liked that name. It's weird, and I'm weird so it's perfect!

23. What is one of your fondest memories?

The one that comes to mind off the top of my head is the day I got engaged. Jon and I were hiking in Santa Fe, NM and we finally got to the top of this mesa with a panoramic view of Santa Fe, (which was amazing.) I was completely fascinated by the view, Jon asked me to turn around and there he was on his knee holding my ring in front of him, he asked me to marry him. I stood there for a moment in awe, wrapped my arms around him and began balling, (after say YES of course)! We were the only ones on the top of this mountain/mesa and it was so romantic and couldn't have been more perfect!

I'm tagging:
