Care Package

I got a package yesterday from my mom! Let me tell ya, it was a much needed care package. Yesterday I was a little down in the dumps, but that really helped brighten my spirits. Since my favorite hair product can only be purchased in the states, (at least I think) I asked her to send me some more hair spray and root lift, thank goodness the package arrived yesterday because I was almost out. She sent me some Mary Kay eye makeup remover and little tid bits of make-up. And of course sent some extra little goodies for me:

A makeup bag with lotion, body scrub and a tiny roll on perfume.
The fragrance is pineapple. Smells very summery!
It's prefect because I really wanted two makeup bags,
one for home and one for travel. Now I have both.

But check this out! This made me uber happy.
It's a wine cork.
Isn't that the cutest thing ever!
My mom knows us too well, we love our wine and wine accessories.
Care packages make me SOOO HAPPY! It's so nice to receive little things from home and from our families. It could be the smallest thing and Jon and I would be giddy as can be. For instance, Jon's mom sent us Sweet Tart Bunnies/Ducks for Easter, we were like kids in a candy store. My step mom sends me sweet cards. My best bud sent me a card letting me know I was missed! and Val has sent me some really great things. Thanks Mom, Janie, Brandii, Val, Lish and everyone else for all of the sweet care packages and letters you send. You have no idea how much we appreciate them. God has blessed us with wonderful friends and family!

Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday! One more day til Friday!

It's a Beautiful Day in This Neighborhood

This morning started with watching a man walk down our street, stop by a row of garbage receptacles and out of nowhere unzip his pants and taking a leak. Yup that's right. This guy was not in the least bit modest. I was so embarrassed I turned my head to look away, with a look of awe on my face and my mouth wide open. People walked right past him and it was no big deal for this man.

Oh well, I guess when you gotta go, you gotta go.

A couple of you asked for my salsa recipe so here it is!
Today I used:

4 large tomatoes
1/2 medium red onion (sweet onions are better)

1 jalapeno
1 lime

pepper

garlic salt

1/2 teaspoon sugar

I used the entire 4 tomatoes, jalapeno and juiced 1 lime. I then added pepper and garlic salt until it tasted to my liking. If you like your salsa spicy, use the entire jalapeno. If not use half or keep adding until it tastes great to you.

TADA!

Hope that helps. I'm not great at making recipes. It's all about taste testing for me.

We got another care package today and we were both so excited to open it!

Jon's mom sent us some fun things.
A couple of games and some VERY cool watches!

These watches have two faces on them so we now know what time it is in Germany as well as what time it is in Oklahoma! That is going to help so much because we are always counting backward on our fingers to know the time in OK!
THANKS BRANDII we love our gifts so much. Thanks for thinking of us! We love you!!

Also, we rented Vicky Christina Barcelona last night

I LOVE this movie and am buying it as soon as humanly possible!
It is so good.
Woody Allen is an amazing writer and director.
You should definitely check it out.

Sorry, it seems like my blog is turning into a "what movies to watch" blog. ;) But I just love spreading the word about great movies!

Hope it's a wonderful Tuesday for you all!

Yippie For Care Packages!

I received a package yesterday from a wonderful friend who means so much to me, Valerie.

She sent me a wonderful book called The Prayer of Jesus For You. It's 30 days, 30 ways closer to God.

I had asked her about a week or two ago for her ideas on a good study bible. And she was so kind to give me several suggestions and surprised me with this wonderful package. I am so glad to have a book like this!

Valerie is Brian's mother and Brian is our best friend back in Oklahoma. We miss him dearly. But I am so thankful we have been able to keep in touch with both of them. We love them both so much.

She also sent me a plaque. It reads.... "Many People Will Walk In and Out of Your Life But Only True Friends Will Leave Footprints in Your Heart."

I found the perfect spot for it on my entry way side table! I absolutely love it!

Thanks so much Val, you don't know how much this meant to me. It made my entire day! Well, actually my entire week. You are truly a wonderful friend!

Not only did I receive that package from Valerie, but my mom sent me a package for Valentines Day as well. She sent me a bunch of coffee from my step dad's business.

She sent some much needed face wash and face lotion and some more hair product for the hubs. She also sent this cute little milk and sugar set that is perfect for our kitchen and adds some much needed color!
Isn't it adorable?!

THANKS SO MUCH MOM!!!! I love all of the care packages you send. It means so much to Jon and I to receive something from you and a little something from the States!
We love you.
