Computer Woes

My computer has officially hit the fritz! The screen has turned turquoise and there are squiggly lines running along it. I have never had computer trouble, per say, but this is when I would call our friend Chris (the computer genius) and ask him to PLEASE fix my most favorite thing in the world. Well this is a problem, since Chris now lives a gagillion miles away, across the world.

So, I think it might be time to invest in a new laptop! What do ya'll think??? ;)

What blogger looks like now....

Jon told me a lot of companies get new computers every three years because a lot of them break down and it costs more to fix a computer then to just a buy a new one. I thought that was completely absurd, computers are supposed to last forever right......... wrong! It has been about three years now since we've had this laptop, and it is now completely bunk, I guess he was right.

Luckily we recently bought an external hard drive so that I could start storing all of my pictures and know they'd be safe. So glad we decided to buy this ex hard drive because it is going to come in handy today!

Now, here's where I need advice from you lovelies! What is your favorite laptop???

Hope ya'll have a wonderful Tuesday! and thanks for any advice concerning a new laptop!

Sad news about your computer!!

I don't know much about a good laptop to get because I kinda need a new one myself, ha. But hope you find one you love : )

Get a macbook!! They are more expensive upfront (mine was $1100 I think) but I've never had to repair it. They last forever and rarely have issues. And if you get Apple Care they will replace whatever for free. Seriously worth the investment...says the girl who bought cheapo laptops to save money but had to replace them every 18 months.

UGh. No fun! If I could afford it right now, I'd def. get a macbook. PCs can't compare with mac's reputation.

UGH sorry about your computer! I have a Dell and LOVE IT!

That sucks about your computer:(

But getting a new one is always so exciting! Now, I've heard nothing but great things about the Macbooks but personally I have a Dell Inspiron (it's pink!!) and I love it! But truth be told, I'll probably get a Macbook when this one kicks the bucket (knock on wood because it's only 8 months old!). So shop around, read reviews and maybe ask your friend Chris what he thinks!

I'm so sorry. I agree....they should last much longer than 3 yrs.!!!
I love my mac. I still have a TON to learn about it.
It's different, but I really like it.

I know everyone is going to tell you to get a Mac, but unless you plan on doing some serious graphic design, there is just no need to pay all that extra money.

I've been working off of Dell laptops and desktops forever now. I love love love them, and they are cheap. My current laptop is about three years old, has a shit ton of programs running on it, and never once faltered. My last one probably lasted forever, but sadly I had to give it back after I was laid off.

We have a Toshiba right now and I like it, but I'm thinking about getting a Macbook and letting Sean take this laptop when he deploys.

I've heard nothing but good things about Mac.

I SO feel your pain! I am in need of a laptop right now too. Currently I use my work laptop and just take it home with me whenever I know I'll need it or I'll use my husband's laptop but both do not have enough space for my pictures, photo shop and itunes. I haven't been able to update my ipod for almost a year now!

I know!

The only laptops we buy are from a local place here in Utah called PC Laptops so I'm not sure what else is out there!

Thanks for your posts on my blog!

I think I would just about die if my laptop broke right now...it is my only means of communication with my friends and family right now! I have a MacBook Pro and I LOVE it. I know some people say that macs are more expensive, but I have been a Mac user for almost 5 years now and I would never go back to a PC!

I think that the 3-year mark thing is accurate. I've had mine for just over that, and it's starting to act oddly. I have an HP, which I really, really like, and that's probably what I'll get the next time around :-)

Oh no!!! Get a Macbook! I'm obsessed with mine. If there's ever a problem they send you parts to fix it right away plus they're really customer friendly over the phone!

I LOVE my Toshiba. As someone said earlier, unless you are planning to do a whole heck of a lot of professional graphic design, you don't need to spend 4x as much on a Mac jut for the little apple on the lid, since most of their software now is either PC-compatible or has a PC counterpart. I do tons of photo editing on my PC and the software out there is great. Besides, Macs break just as often and as easily as PCs - you don't want to have to spend $3000 every three years when you can spend $800! That's my rationale, anyway. :)

I love my macbook! But it depends on what programs you use most of the time. It's been awesome though! I've had almost no problems with it. :)

Gosh that stinks! We have a MAC Powerbook G4 and LOVE it! We have had it for about 6 years. Not once has it ever crashed! (knock on wood)...the only time I've had to take it in was to get a new battery. Apple store told me they couldn't even believe I still had the original batter. I highly recommend them though!!

I'd give my right arm for a MacBook...just sayin. Honestly, I hear Apple stuff rocks, I've never heard anyone say anything bad about them.

We have a toshiba and a dell. The toshiba's light went out of the monitor but we were able to replace it for under $100. But I like my dell laptop tons more than the toshiba.
