He Cracked!!!

My birthday surprise is..............

IRELAND

HERE WE COME

We are leaving Friday morning!! I CANNOT wait.

Jon told me this morning! I was surprised he told me so early and very surprised that we are going to Ireland. Although I should have known, because my family is from Ireland and I've wanted to visit for as long as I can remember. My dad is HUGE on the Irish culture. He has been to Dublin twice and loves everything about the country. LITERALLY everything. He's all tattooed up with Irish paraphernalia/symbols. We actually both have the Irish Claddagh tattoo. I'm so excited, I'm just jabbering on and am probably making no sense whatsoever.

One of my great friends lives in Dublin and he is going to take us around the city all day Saturday. I so look forward to seeing him again. He's a tough little Irish fighter that my dad trained while he was living in the states. He's a great guy and Jon and I both look forward to hanging out with him!

So off we go Friday at the crack of dawn and will be arriving early morning in Dublin!

As my dad says I'm going back to the Motherland ;)
This Irish girl is finally going back to her roots!

My husband rocks!

Any ideas from you lovely ladies on what we should see and do. We will only be in Dublin from Friday through Monday!!!

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

AHHHHHHH! How exciting!!! Glad your hubby was really able to suprise you:p I know things that I want to do while there is definitely at leaat visit the Blarney stone but maybe not kiss it, I hear the irish pee on it because its funny when the Americans put their lips to it, yuck! Other then that go to every castle I can find and maybe spend a day fallow in the history and foot steps of King Brian Brou! Gosh, go to some little pub DEFINITELY! Maybe get lucky and meet some irish folk teller....I love all storys from that land and coud listen to them none stop! Go see the Emerald Isles and ride a horse bare backed across the beache!!! Walk, walk and WALK my way as far into the country side as I could, just to see that amazing green all around me! Find a lucky four leaf clover:p And then just anything else that might catch my eye! Good thing you'll have a tour guide while there:)I am huge into the irish culture as well as I know you've read why:) I woud love to go to my dads home town, maybe visit his parents/my grandparents grave site to pay my respects and just ponder on what it would have been like to meet them...I want to do everything! HA HA! Have so much fun girl and please please please take tons of pictures and post them! lol...

You are so lucky!! I must admit I am a bit envious of you... I fell in love with (theoretical) Ireland after I read Nora Robert's Irish Trilogy. I want to visit Ireland badly.

I would like to consider myself an Irish person 'cuz you know I like it and all but I am afraid to do so - France had me fall flat on my face due to my expectations...

Well I think this was a good post for delurking :-)

I freaking LOVE Dublin! Eat at Quiznos and Papa Johns for me. Oh, and check out the Wild Wicklow tours, they are so fun. And the store Penny's (next to Eason's Book Store) is like a H&M but cheaper! And the people...

Clearly, I loved Ireland a little too much.

Have fun!! Are you only going to Dublin? If you have time try to get out of Dublin and go to the West. Galway, Connemara, Donegal are all AMAZING! Or Wicklow is closer too and quite gorgeous.

I miss it, drink some Barry's tea and enjoy the craic!
