Our Weekly Weekend Update: Paris Style

Whew it's good to be back home! Man, Memorial weekend was uber busy and crazy, but it really was a wonderful time. Paris was amazing and so much better to see during warm weather. The last time Jon and I went, it was FREEZING, so it was nice to be able to enjoy the city in the spring/summer. We packed each day with as much as we could possibly see before we just fell over in exhaustion. We visited the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomph, Champs Elysees, Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge, Notre Dam, saw the Eiffel Tower at night, the Louvre, and more. For those of you who have been reading for a long time, you know I am a picture taking fool, so be prepared for lots of pictures. (I uploaded over 1000 pictures....) So I'll do my best to make this a short and sweet picture post ;)

Here's Our First Day in Paris

Saturday we headed for France at around 10:00 arriving in Paris at 3:30 at our hotel, (which was near the Eiffel Tower.)

This is a shot from the drive. I love these beautiful fields of flowers in Europe.
Our hotel
The subway is a Godsend.
It was the best transportion throughout the city.
Some beautiful buildings on our walk to the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower, (as if you didn't know)

After walking around taking a ridiculous amount of pictures, we ventured toward the Arc de Triomph. Once we arrived at the Arc, we relived how famished we were, so we walked down Champs Elysees, and stopped at a great pizza restaurant named Vesuvio for dinner.
Pizza and red wine.... the perfect dinner. The sun was setting and the sky was breathtaking, it was the perfect opportunity to take beautiful picture of the Arc de Triomph.
A picture of Kathleen and Sean.

The sky was beautiful Saturday night and there were hundreds of people taking pictures of the amazing sunset. I was so glad we were able to capture such incredible photographs.

After visiting the Arc, we walked down Champs Elysee checking out the shops along the way. After being on our feet all day long we were exhausted, so we made our way back to our hotel and called it a night. We knew we wanted to get a good nights rest so that we could be ready for the next day of our Paris adventure.

Hope you enjoyed day 1 of our trip. There will be plenty more pictures tomorrow!

I can't wait to catch up on all of my blog reading! I've missed my wonderful blog friends! I feel like it's been FOREVER since I've last blogged. I look forward to reading and catching up with you all!

Have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Visitors and Weekend Adventures

It is so good to have family and friends here from Oklahoma. Talk about a breath of fresh air. Having my brother around makes me uber happy. He and I have always had the best relationship and always had so much fun together, I am so blessed for that, and I hope we will always have a close bond.

Yesterday after walking around downtown we walked to the train station, (The Hautbanhof) and picked up one of Sean and Kathleen's friends, Caitlin.
Caitlin lives in Austria at the moment, spending a semester in college there.

After picking up Caitlin we went to the Brauhaus Castel, a German restaurant we frequent often, and had some yummy German food and some Hefeweizen. Then we went to the Irish Pub downtown and listened to some great live music. It was great evening!

Today I am taking it easy. The kids are exploring downtown and checking out all of the shops. Tomorrow we head for Paris bright and early in the morning. Sean and Kathleen have never been to Paris (this is actually Kathleen's first time out of the country,) so I thought Paris would be the perfect place for them to see. There are so many sites and museums, I figure we won't miss a minute and cram everything that we can see into one weekend!

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Weekend! I look forward to reading all about your holiday weekends. I'll be back soon to post about our weekend adventure. Stay tuned for a ton of pictures, as always.
